Also today I created a small color mixing chart. I wanted to experiment with some different brown paints that I have, mixing them with a few other random colors to see the results. The color chart helps to appreciate subtle differences in appearance. Just thought I'd show that as well! :)
Very bright and "cheery" on the new still life! :) And the color chart is very interesting. I can imagine that it must be "fun" to experiment with colors. :)
ReplyDeleteYup, color is lots of fun. It's the essence of painting! :) I bought a new tube of oil paint today, something called pthalo turquoise. That should be interesting to use! :) I was looking for a new, warm blue color.
ReplyDeleteTonight I was listening to Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". I looked up the story of the ship on Wikipedia, and noticed that it's the anniversary of the wreckage! It sank 37 years ago today. Wow.
Oh, wow! I love the color turquoise. What are the odds that this would be the anniversary? It is kind of odd the way things work out sometimes.

ReplyDeleteYes, it was a sad event. The captain said that he had never seen a storm so bad. It's weird that the Great Lakes can get hurricane force winds!
