Thanks Mom! I'm kind of glad to be done with it. I'm ready for something new! I put down a base layer of color today, for 2 different abstract paintings. They'll be more experimental than anything else.
Today I've been drinking Florida's Natural brand orange / mango juice. Very delicious!
The new paintings sound "exciting! :) I had some of that very juice last week. It was on sale at my Publix. It is good alright,I couldn't stop drinking it. :)
Wax pastels and colored inks... sounds like this painting will be quite different from your other ones. This should be most interesting to watch, Mikey! :)
I like doing small paintings, because it's easy to view the whole artwork at once. That's important. And I just like painting with small brushes over large ones. Although with abstracts, I love large sized paintings, too. Large paintings, when you see them at a museum, have a real presence. You can feel the painting call to you, from across the room, especially if it's a painting which you've always loved, but had never seen in person before.
Hi, Mikey! This is a very realistic painting. I feel like I can reach out and actually touch each piece of fruit. Very, very nice! :)

ReplyDeleteI know, it's hard to stop. Good thing it's healthy!
ReplyDeleteOn my abstract paintings, I may try using the wax pastels and colored inks that I bought recently. They apparently work well on top of acrylic paint.

ReplyDeleteYes, but it will be very tiny, too. :) Only like 4" x 5".
ReplyDeleteDid you see the baby picture of Gracie, on the Tommy and Gracie Facebook page? :)
Reminds of that "tiny" painting you did for me.Yes, I saw that picture. I was looking at a bunch of their videos today.Tooooo.... cute! :)
ReplyDeleteBeing so small...does that make it harder to paint? :)

ReplyDeleteI understand what you are saying, Mikey. Never thought about art in a museum that way before! :)
ReplyDeleteI love museums. Maybe someday one of my paintings will hang in a museum. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do some reading! I'm reading Joe Hyams' "Zen in the Martial Arts". Joe trained with Bruce Lee, so he has some interesting stories.
Goodnight! :)
Sounds like a good book. I'm looking at some more videos. Tommy and Gracie are just too cute. "Hi" to Bruce. And "goodnight" to the both of you! :)
